Spawning Salmon - Prints + Cards
Clayoquot Sound used to contain one of the largest Sockeye Salmon (Oncorhynchus Nerka) stocks until the early 70’s where a persistent decline caused the fishery to collapse. Barkley Sound then took over so most of the Sockeye Salmon you find around Tofino are on their way there. Currently the most dominant species in Clayoquot Sound are the Coho and Chinook Salmon. All species have been on the decline. Some say the largest cause are the increase of Salmon farms, among other environmental causes. Salmon spend 2-4 years at sea before heading up their home rivers to spawn.
Available in a 4" x 9" art card, or 13" x 19" press prints.
All cards and prints are professionally printed in Victoria, BC on FSC and SFI certified papers (envelopes and backing included). Cards are blank and come with white envelope. Prints include a card stock backing with artist info sheet. Both are individually wrapped in clear poly bag unless requested otherwise.
